John Lado Keni is a refugee from the Sudan, now living in the American Midwest. He has been deaf from birth but is a spirited storyteller. Here he recounts his perilous journey from the Sudan to refugee camps to the U.S. in his own special language consisting of elements of sign language with personal gestures and sounds. Color.
